Morocco's January-September oil bill reached about MAD 11 billion (some USD 1.4 billion), registering a fall of 57.9%.
This situation is a result of lower energy prices in the international markets, said the country's Foreign Exchange Office.
The average price of an imported ton of crude oil declined 44.6% to reach MAD 3,329 (USD 433 dollars). Imports of energy products thus fell 35.4% to stand at MAD 38.9 billion (USD5 billion).
In 2008, Morocco's crude oil imports stood at MAD 30.8 billion (USD 3.54 billion), registering a rise of 17.5% relative to 2007.
