Morocco, hub of stability and development: French official
  29/07/2010

Morocco is a hub of stability and development in a problem-laden region, French State Secretary for European Affairs Pierre Lellouche said on Tuesday.

"We are glad to take note of the Moroccan government's mobilization and modernity, and we believe that Morocco succeeded in combining its religious tradition, historical culture and the requisites for modernity and development,” Lellouche told radio channel "chaine inter" on the occasion of the upcoming Throne Day.

He voiced the will to see the French-Moroccan friendship ties grow stronger.

On relations between the North African country and the European Union (EU), he said France is satisfied with the fact that Morocco is first country to be granted an advanced status.

He said that this privileged partnership helps Morocco promote its legal and industrial standards without any compulsion from Europe.
