The region is very important for the country's overall development, said Laïla Mamou the Vice-President of Entrepreneurship Club and President of Wafasalaf's board of directors.

The region is very important for the country's overall development, said Laïla Mamou the Vice-President of Entrepreneurship Club and President of Wafasalaf's board of directors, in an interview with Morocco Business news.

Here follows the interview:

  • Morocco Business News: The Entrepreneurship Club intends to organize regional investment forums in a number of regions. What is the main objective of these forums?

  • Laïla MAMOU:
  • The main objective of this series of forums is to explore the economic development potentials of each region and bring together the administration, politicians and economic players for this purpose.

As you will see, through the workshops that would be organized during the whole forum, we will give these stakeholders the opportunity to discuss and explore these development potentials for future cooperation.

  • What is the role of the region in the overall development of the country?

  • As you know, our Morocco has recently launched a number of structural projects, but these are not enough. This is why we have to rely more on the region in order to accompany this development. That is to say, think globally and act locally.

Actually, the main idea behind these forums is that we have to work locally in order to support these development projects and make them bear fruit.

  • Is there any relationship between the success of this development and cooperation between the local authorities, elected representatives and economic players?

  • What is clear from the first forum about the Skhiriat-Temara region is that there is a strong commitment of the elected representatives, there is a strong commitment of the governor of the Skhiriat-Temara region, and there is a clear roadmap.

Now, this forum is only a first step; it is not enough. What is important is to work intelligently, and cooperate and coordinate intelligently, in order to kick start this region.

Therefore, the work must be done in cooperation between the elected representatives, the administration and entrepreneurs. Together they can develop this region and any region, actually.
